The project has grown out of the ideas and inspiration of young people who use this youth café. They and their friends were simply looking for a sale place to hang out, make friends and share life experiences. And for us, at the YMCA Cork , it is important to provide a drug and alcohol free environment for young people and to help them make health choices.

Since we opened the doors, there has been a steady stream of 15-22 years olds every Monday night. They come from all walks of life, and many different countries, and we all have a grand time together. The café has taken on a strongly musical emphasis, evolving into an open mic for budding musicians . If you come by,, you’ll hear lots of amazing good rap, hip hop, songwriters, guitar players and singers. And you may even be invited to perform.

Mondays Night Live takes place at the
YMCA (1st floor) from 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm.
